Polenta is a traditional Italian meal made from cornmeal. Historically, polenta is a food for the poor, peasants and monks, because corn flour is a very affordable product and, importantly, healthy, nutritious and rich in minerals.
No wonder this was the favorite porridge of poor. Of course, then vegetables, mushrooms, seafood, meat were added to the polenta – anything, and the dish changed significantly.
Today, polenta is prepared as a side dish, cereals, main dishes and even dessert puddings. Polenta baked, come up with sauces and served instead of bread! There are many cooking options.
Polenta porridge pudding is prepared very simply and quickly. This is an excellent breakfast, charging slow carbohydrates and benefits for the whole day!
You can use vegetable milk. If you like porridge with a more liquid consistency, then add 700 ml of milk. Instead of nuts, you can add berries and fruits.
- Bring milk to a boil. Stir constantly, add polenta and cook for 3 minutes. Constantly stir the porridge – it is important, otherwise it will begin to gather in lumps. Add sugar and salt, mix. Remove from heat.
- Finely chop the walnut with a knife. Put the porridge pudding into plates and garnish with a nut.
